Launching of DemoSATH: A Milestone in Offshore Wind Technology
BOA is proud to announce the successful launch of the Saitec-designed DemoSATH full-scale prototype. This groundbreaking project marks a significant advancement in offshore wind technology, showcasing our commitment to innovation and excellence in the maritime industry.
The launching operations were expertly executed using the semi-submersible BOABARGE 33, a formidable asset measuring 140m x 57m x 8.54m. The operation took place in the port of Bilbao, Spain, a strategic location that facilitated the seamless execution of this complex task.
In addition to providing the BOABARGE 33 as the main asset for the launching operation, BOA played a crucial role in project management and engineering for the load-out and float-off scope. Our team of experts meticulously planned and executed every aspect of the operation, ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
The DemoSATH project represents a significant leap forward in the development of floating offshore wind technology. The prototype, designed by Saitec Offshore Technologies, features a concrete twin-hull structure made of modular, pre-fabricated components. This innovative design allows the platform to align itself with the current and wave direction, optimizing energy capture and stability.
The successful launch of DemoSATH is a testament to BOA’s expertise and dedication to advancing renewable energy solutions. We are honored to have contributed to this pioneering project and look forward to continuing our collaboration with Saitec Offshore Technologies and other industry leaders to drive the future of sustainable energy.
