Launching of Tetraspar Demonstrator Floater and Keel:
A New Era in Offshore Wind Technology

BOA is thrilled to announce the successful launch of the Tetraspar Demonstrator Floater and Keel, a significant milestone in the advancement of offshore wind technology. This project highlights BOA’s expertise and commitment to pioneering innovative solutions in the maritime industry.

The launch was executed using the semi-submersible BOABARGE 21, a robust asset measuring 92m x 31.5m x 6.71m. The operation took place in the port of Grenaa, Denmark, a strategic location that facilitated the efficient execution of this complex task.

The Floater and Keel were loaded-out using Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs) and floated-off the BOABARGE 21 in two consecutive operations. Each operation was meticulously planned and executed in close cooperation between the project teams of BOA and BMS. BMS took charge of the loading operation, while BOA expertly managed the shifting, ballasting, and submersion of the BOABARGE 21, as well as the float-off of the TetraSpar units.

Following the final assembly of the wind turbine, the combined structure was towed and installed at the Marin Energy Test Center (Metcentre) off the coast of Stavanger. This successful operation underscores BOA’s capability to handle large-scale, complex maritime projects and our dedication to advancing renewable energy solutions.

The Tetraspar Demonstrator project represents a significant leap forward in the development of floating offshore wind technology. The innovative design and successful execution of this project demonstrate BOA’s commitment to excellence and our ability to deliver cutting-edge solutions in the maritime industry.
