Load-on and Float-off of Concrete Elements for the Ljboulevard
BOA was appointed as the main contractor for the load-out and float-off of three consecutive operations in Amsterdam, utilizing the semi-submersible BOABARGE 35. This project is a key component of the Ljboulevard development, where the concrete elements will be installed near the Amsterdam Central Station to create an underwater bicycle parking facility with a capacity for 4,000 bicycles.
The load-out operations were meticulously planned and executed to ensure the safe and efficient handling of the concrete elements. Each element, weighing between 4,900 tonnes and 7,200 tonnes, required precise engineering and operational management. BOABARGE 35, with its advanced capabilities, was the ideal choice for this task.
Upon arrival at the installation site, the float-off operations commenced. The concrete elements were floated off in a controlled and precise manner, ensuring their stability and integrity throughout the process. The successful completion of the float-off operations marked a significant milestone in the project, demonstrating BOA’s expertise and commitment to excellence.
All operational management of the barge during the load-out and float-off was the responsibility of BOA. The operational team at the site consisted of highly skilled personnel from BOA, whose expertise and dedication ensured the success of the project. Their efforts were crucial in achieving the project’s milestones and delivering exceptional results. Our in-house engineering team provided extensive engineering and operational services during both the planning and execution phases, ensuring that all operations were conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
This project underscores BOA’s capability to handle large-scale marine engineering and offshore operations with precision and expertise. The successful load-on and float-off of the concrete elements onboard BOABARGE 35 exemplify our commitment to delivering exceptional solutions and achieving project milestones efficiently.
