Load-on, Transport, and Float-off of AOF1: A Testament to BOA’s Expertise
BOA is proud to announce the successful completion of the load-on, transport, and float-off operations for Arctic Offshore Farming’s (AOF1) fish farm Cage A and Cage B. This project underscores BOA’s leadership and expertise in handling complex maritime operations.
BOA was hired as the main contractor for this ambitious project. The AOF1 fish farm, with an approximate weight of 3000 tons, an outer diameter of around 80 meters, and a height of approximately 10 meters, presented a significant logistical challenge. However, BOA’s innovative approach and advanced engineering capabilities ensured a seamless execution.
The load-out and float-off of Cage A were accomplished using the semi-submersible sister-barges BOABARGE 35 and BOABARGE 36 in a tandem configuration at Aker Verdal, Norway. For Cage B, BOABARGE 36 and BOABARGE 34 were utilized in a similar tandem setup. The dual barge linkage system, a critical component of this operation, was meticulously designed by our in-house engineering department, showcasing our commitment to precision and safety.
BOA’s responsibilities extended beyond providing the barges. We were also in charge of all engineering and operational management during the load-out, transport, and float-off phases. Our team of experts ensured that every aspect of the operation was executed with the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
This project not only highlights BOA’s capability to handle large-scale maritime operations but also our dedication to supporting the aquaculture industry. The successful completion of the AOF1 project is a testament to our innovative solutions and our commitment to excellence.
